Reena Sharma Ramlakhan
Hi! I’m Chef SweetLadyR, also known as Reena. I am a Jersey City native with Indo-Caribbean roots, currently residing in Bayonne NJ. I found my passion for cooking in my mother’s kitchen, where I learned to blend spices into flavorful curries and stews. After my mother passed away when I was 20, I took on the responsibility of caring for my younger sisters, keeping her spirit alive through her recipes.
In 2017, my culinary journey took a significant step forward when I joined Liberty House Restaurant, where I developed a passion for fine dining and large-scale catering. Under the mentorship of Chef Kenny, I honed my skills in menu creation and banquet hosting. Today, I specialize in Guyanese and vegetarian Indo-Caribbean cuisine, as well as multi-cultural fine dining. My business is a labor of love, offering customized, home-cooked meals and catering services, all crafted with care and respect for dietary needs and religious protocols.
Building this business is not just about my love for food; it’s about creating a legacy for my daughter and connecting with others through the joy of cooking!
