Reena Sharma Ramlakhan
I’m Reena Sharma Ramlakhan—proudly known as Chef SweetLadyR—chef, mother, and entrepreneur based in Bayonne, NJ. My culinary journey began in my mother’s kitchen in Jersey City, where I watched her transform simple ingredients into meals that brought comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging to everyone she welcomed at her table. Through her, I learned that food is not just nourishment—it’s love, legacy, and the heartbeat of a family.
Losing my mother at the age of 20 it changed my world forever. Overnight, I became a caretaker to my younger sisters, and the kitchen became my sanctuary. Cooking was how I healed, how I kept her memory alive, and how I found the strength to lead my family through life’s hardest moments. Every dish I prepare is a tribute to her spirit and the traditions she instilled in me.
My passion for the culinary arts deepened as I earned my degree in Culinary Arts and began my professional journey at Liberty House Restaurant . There, I gained invaluable experience in fine dining, large-scale catering, and the art of menu creation under the guidance of remarkable mentors. Later, I expanded into corporate dining, mastering the intricacies of kitchen operations and learning how to create balanced, innovative menus for diverse palates and needs.

Today, as the founder and heart behind Chef SweetLadyR, I specialize in personalized meal prep, private chef experiences, and event catering rooted in multicultural flavor, authenticity, and uncompromising care. My menus honor my Indo-Caribbean heritage while embracing global inspiration—always crafted with intention, and always respectful of dietary and religious protocols.
This business is more than my career—it is my life’s tribute to my mother, a legacy for my daughter, and a beacon for women who need proof that even in the face of loss, we can rise, rebuild, and create something extraordinary. Through food, I connect generations, uplift my community, and remind every client that the greatest acts of love often begin at the table.
